Ten years of technical drafting experience across HVAC, fire protection, and mechanical systems sit behind Yuri Sapang's work as a Mechanical Drafter at Design Works Engineering. Since joining the firm in August 2021, Yuri has contributed to a Canadian project portfolio that spans complex building types across multiple provinces, working in AutoCAD and Revit to produce detailed blueprints, 2D and 3D models, HVAC system plans, shop drawings, and as-built documentation.
The drafting career began at Systech Industries Corporation in Makati City, producing HVAC and fire protection system plans, mechanical drawings, shop drawings from site conditions, and as-built plans for maintenance reference. From there, seven years with F.R. Sevilla Industrial and Development Corporation in Novaliches, Quezon City, followed, where the scope expanded to include detailed blueprints for complex building projects, 2D and 3D model development, and a steady cadence of shop and as-built drawing production. That seven-year run built the consistency and attention to detail that production drafting requires, and those habits carried directly into the Design Works environment.
The technical foundation rests on a Technical Drafting NC II certification completed at MICROCADD in Quezon City, with training in AutoCAD and colour rendering, and an Electronics and Telecommunications Technology vocational diploma from Paniqui Institute of Technology. At Design Works, those tools are applied to engineered concepts that need to become precise, buildable drawings, coordinating with engineers and cross-discipline teams to maintain compliance and accuracy across evolving design sets.
