Tarek Ismail

Tarek Ismail
,
P.Eng.
ELECTRICAL ENGINEER

Tarek Ismail is an Electrical Engineer at Design Works Engineering, where he designs and drafts electrical systems for commercial, residential, and industrial developments. His role includes developing power distribution, lighting, security, and fire alarm systems, as well as conducting electrical load calculations and voltage drop studies in accordance with CSA, NBC, NEC, and project-specific requirements.

Prior to joining Design Works, Tarek gained extensive experience in building management systems, PLC programming, HVAC controls, network communications, and system integration through his previous role as a Control Systems Designer. He draws on this experience to assist the mechanical team with BMS-related questions when needed. He holds a Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering from the University of Alberta, graduating in 2021.

Tarek also serves as a Signal Operator in the Canadian Armed Forces, where he has been involved in communications and technical operations for nearly seven years.

Outside of work, he enjoys sports, video games, movies and plays, as well as hands-on projects involving automotive electrical and mechanical repair.
