SENIOR ELECTRICAL DESIGNER

Ryan Epino joined Design Works Engineering in July 2020 as an Electrical Designer and works from the firm's Grand Prairie, Alberta office, preparing complete electrical drawing sets for Canadian projects using AutoCAD and Revit. His deliverables cover the full scope of a construction-ready electrical package: cover pages, general notes, site plans, small power and auxiliary layouts, lighting layouts, security plans, electrical load and equipment schedules, single-line diagrams, fire alarm details, telecoms and CATV layouts, CCTV and security access details, luminaire schedules, and electrical specifications, all produced in compliance with the Canadian Electrical Code.

His career before Design Works took him across four countries over more than a decade. He began in Manila at Edison Electric Inc., producing high-voltage, medium-voltage, and low-voltage switchgear shop drawings and motor control panel drawings. He joined Saudi Oger Ltd. in Riyadh in 2007, spending six years preparing electrical shop drawings for lighting, power, lightning protection, earthing, and load schedules, and coordinating with MEP subcontractors on drawing approvals. A year with Shinbo Co. Ltd. in Karakalpakstan, Uzbekistan, followed, tracking electrical works progress on construction sites. He then moved to Bahrain, where he spent nearly three years with Alkharafi and Sons sizing cable trays, relocating electrical equipment and devices per evolving architecture, and preparing shop drawings across commercial and residential project types.

His project experience at Design Works covers hotels, condominiums, apartment buildings, hospitals, railway stations, and car parks, and he works in Dialux Evo and Design Master - Electrical alongside AutoCAD and Revit. He holds a Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering from the Technological Institute of the Philippines.
