Rex Cudiamat brings a background that is broader than most electrical designers at his level, covering electrical design, testing and commissioning, building operations, and contract management before concentrating on design at Design Works Engineering. He has been an Electrical Design Engineer at Design Works since May 2021, preparing electrical plans for residential and commercial projects using AutoCAD, Design Master, and Revit.
His path to design came through the field. After graduating from Adamson University with a degree in Electrical Engineering and earning both his Registered Electrical Engineer and Registered Master Electrician designations, he worked as a Contracts Engineer at Megaworld Global-Estate Resorts, reviewing electrical plans and managing procurement and project bidding. He then joined Makati Development Corporation as an MEPFS Field Engineer, coordinating subcontractor work, managing requests for information, and leading testing and commissioning programs for mechanical, electrical, plumbing, fire, and structural trades. Subsequent roles with Ayala Property Management Corporation took him through testing and commissioning on East Gallery Place, building engineering at High Park Tower, and a return to testing and commissioning on One Vertis Plaza, where he oversaw major equipment and MEPFS system commissioning, reviewed renovation plans, and conducted construction inspections.
That site and operations background, covering how building systems actually perform after handoff, sharpens the practical judgment he brings to electrical design at Design Works. His work spans residential and commercial project types, and he is proficient in AutoCAD, Design Master, and Revit.
