Pouya Shirazi

Pouya Shirazi
,
STRUCTURAL EIT

Pouya Shirazi is a Structural Engineer-in-Training at Design Works Engineering, joining the team in 2026 after completing his Master of Engineering at the University of Alberta. He earned a Bachelor of Science from Shiraz University in Iran and spent a year working as a Material Specialist with a company specializing in 3D concrete printing, gaining experience in material development and innovative construction technologies.

At Design Works, Pouya contributes to structural design and analysis across reinforced concrete, timber, and steel projects, with experience in structural modelling, load path evaluation, design calculations, and technical documentation.  His academic and project experience has also included bridge design, dynamic analysis, and structural engineering competitions, providing a strong foundation in engineering problem-solving and design coordination.

Outside of work, Pouya is an avid cyclist who rides year-round and enjoys backcountry camping, as well as reading Persian and French poetry and philosophy.
