Ivy Friesen joined Design Works in July as a Mechanical Designer. She holds both a Bachelor’s and Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Alberta, where she also first discovered her passion for engineering through the GEM Program.

Her experience includes four diverse co-op placements, ranging from research at the U of A to a government role in Ottawa and a drafting position in Vancouver. These roles gave her a broad perspective on the many applications of mechanical engineering.

Ivy was drawn to Design Works for the opportunity to put her education into practice and to continue learning from a collaborative, knowledgeable team.
