Efren Dalida
,
LEAD MECHANICAL DESIGNER

Thirty-two years of construction and engineering experience sit behind Efren Dalida's role as Mechanical Designer at Design Works Engineering, where he leads mechanical-plumbing drawings, preliminary plumbing calculations, and schematic preparation for Canadian projects. He is a Licensed Master Plumber with dual undergraduate degrees in Sanitary Engineering and Civil Engineering, a combination that gives him an unusually broad technical foundation for plumbing and public health engineering work.

His career spans the Philippines and the Middle East in roughly equal measure. He began as a site plumber in the Philippines, advancing through project engineer and operations manager roles before heading to Saudi Arabia in 2004 as a Senior Plumbing CAD Draftsman with Saudi Oger Limited, producing plumbing layouts, isometrics, and coordination details for tender and execution stages. He advanced through the Saudi Oger organization and the wider Middle East market over the next decade: as Plumbing (Public Health) Design Engineer and MEP Coordinator with Hyder Consulting Middle East Ltd. in the UAE, reviewing design packages for major community developments and mixed-use towers; as MEP CAD Coordinator with Mapco Inc. in Qatar, preparing synthesis drawings and resolving on-site MEP conflicts; and back with Saudi Oger as Senior Technician - Plumbing Design, handling pipe sizing, routing, and coordination on large-scale royal residences and the King Abdullah Financial District.

He joined Design Works Engineering in 2016 and has since been a core part of the firm's mechanical-plumbing design output for Canada. He works in AutoCAD and Autodesk Revit, prepares bills of quantities and material estimates, and coordinates synthesis drawings and technical submittals across MEP disciplines. He holds Registered Master Plumber accreditation from the Philippine Professional Regulation Commission and is a member of the National Master Plumbers Association of the Philippines.
