Anton Rene Teruel brings 16 years of mechanical engineering experience to Design Works Engineering, where he works as a Mechanical Designer producing HVAC and plumbing system drawings for Canadian projects. His career is built substantially around the GCC region, where he spent seven years across Saudi Arabia, Qatar, and Libya designing mechanical systems for commercial and building applications before joining Design Works in 2020.

In Saudi Arabia, he spent four years with Al-Muruj Electro Mechanical Ltd. designing HVAC, firefighting, and plumbing systems, supervising the drafting department, and coordinating with site engineers to ensure correct system installation. He followed that with design and AutoCAD engineering work for Vijay Arabia Fire Fighting Installation in Doha, Qatar, where he handled HVAC, firefighting, and plumbing design through to as-built drawing production. A year with Al-Nahr Company in Libya completed his Middle East period before he returned to the Philippines, joining One Zone Asia Philippines Inc. in Manila as a design mechanical engineer responsible for mechanical system calculations and drafting department supervision.

At Design Works, Anton's technical scope covers HVAC and plumbing system design, firefighting system design and hydraulic calculation using ELITE software, HVAC design load calculation using the Hourly Analysis Program, bill of quantities preparation, as-built drawing production, and coordination across architectural, mechanical, and electrical disciplines. He reads and interprets plans across all MEP trades and has working knowledge of MEP CAD production.

He holds a Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering from the Polytechnic University of the Philippines.
