SENIOR STRUCTURAL DESIGNER

Alyssa Resquites-Aure brings more than a decade of structural engineering experience to her role as Structural Supervisor at Design Works Engineering, where she leads design and documentation across commercial, residential, and industrial projects in Alberta, British Columbia, Ontario, and Saskatchewan. Her technical foundation spans steel, reinforced concrete, wood, masonry, and metal stud systems, with working fluency across Revit, AutoCAD, ETABS, RISA, Enercalc, Forte, Woodworks, and MathCad.

Her background is broader than most structural specialists. After years of design work at Cebu Structural Design Solutions, delivering calculations and construction drawings for North American projects, she joined Design Works Engineering in 2022 as a Structural Supervisor. In early 2025, she stepped into a cross-sector role as Duty Engineer at a major hospitality property in Cebu, Philippines, overseeing facilities management, mechanical, electrical, and plumbing systems, preventive maintenance scheduling, and the engineering coordination that contributed to the hotel achieving EDGE sustainability certification. That year outside the design office gave her a practical, whole-building perspective on how occupied facilities actually operate, a lens that now informs how she thinks through structural decisions in complex, multi-system environments. She returned to Design Works in February 2026.

Her project portfolio at Design Works spans mid-rise residential towers in Parksville, British Columbia and Calgary, rental apartment developments in Edmonton and Saskatoon, mixed-use and commercial retail builds across Edmonton and Alberta, and multi-storey hospitality renovations. She carries working knowledge of both the Canadian and US code families, covering NBCC and CSA standards on the Canadian side and IBC, ACI, AISC, NDS, and AISI on the US side, and she coordinates actively with architectural and MEP disciplines throughout design and construction administration.

Within the structural team, she plays a supervisory role, reviewing drafting outputs, coordinating cross-discipline drawing production, and supporting junior designers through larger, more complex deliverables.
