Welcome Tania!

Design Works is pleased to welcome Tania Kiryakos to her role in Business Development for the Calgary region.

Tania Kiryakos credits her people-first attitude as key to her success in business development.

“I’m really good at connecting with people,” Tania said. “I’m a good listener and I love meeting people.”

That skill set should serve her well as she embarks on a new role with Design Works in Business Development for the Calgary region.

Tania comes from an extensive sales background, most notably 15 years with PepsiCo Foods Canada, where she progressed through multiple roles.

“I started from the ground up and ended up (managing) about 15 to 20 people,” Tania said.

“It was a really great place to work. I learned a lot.”

After having her son, Tania decided to stay home with him for a few years, re-entering the workforce earlier this year. Tackling a new challenge in the engineering field with Design Works was very attractive to her.

“In this type of role, there’s no two days that are the same, so it really keeps it very interesting.”

And no matter the industry, the process never truly changes.

“I like to figure out people’s needs,” Tania said. “A client needs something to achieve their goal. I love to figure out what that is and then just help them.”

“Because if they succeed, then I feel like I have succeeded in my role as well.”

Outside of work, Tania loves spending time with her husband and son, but also with her four siblings.

Always embracing new challenges, Tania rediscovered her love of the piano, recently achieving her Level 6. 

“I did the exam and got high honors,” Tania said. “I was very happy.”

And we’re very happy to welcome you to the Design Works team, Tania!
