Growing the future of Women in Construction in Halifax!

Design Works attended the CANS Women in Construction Forum in Halifax yesterday.

Yesterday, Design Works was proud to attend the CANS Women in Construction Forum at Pier 21 in Halifax — with our Director of Administration, Maddy Lakusta, on hand for the event.

Events like this do more than gather people in a room — they build networks, create visibility, and reinforce a culture where women are supported, heard, and equipped to lead.

From keynote speaker Dr. Jody Carrington to the panel discussion and facilitated networking, the day offered courageous conversation, mentorship, and connection across every corner of the industry.

Thank you to CANS and all organizers for creating space that doesn’t just celebrate women in construction — it strengthens the future of the industry.
