Design Works Engineering delivered structural, mechanical, and electrical design for District 23—a 3.3-acre mixed-use development in South Edmonton featuring retail, daycare, and community-focused spaces in collaboration with Planworks Architecture.

Thrilled to Share: District 23 — A New Retail Destination in South Edmonton

We're excited to highlight our involvement in District 23, a 3.3-acre commercial development bringing modern retail, services, and community space to South Edmonton. Phase One includes a freestanding Starbucks and a multi-tenant building with daycare and retail units, all thoughtfully planned to enhance the neighbourhood's daily experience.

At Design Works Engineering, we provided Structural, Mechanical, and Electrical design, supporting both base building and tenant fit-ups through to construction. Our team enjoyed collaborating closely with Planworks Architecture, whose architectural vision helped shape a pedestrian-friendly, contemporary development that responds to community needs.

Thank you to Planworks Architecture Inc. and our partners for a truly collaborative design and delivery process — and congratulations to the entire team on bringing District 23 one step closer to reality!
